Your mental health journey should not stop you from being a hero. The rules regarding psychiatric medications are surprisingly permissive.

SSRIs and Anti-Anxiety Meds

Most common antidepressants (Prozac, Zoloft) and anti-anxiety pills (Xanax, Valium) do not disqualify you. The amount transferred in a pint of blood is negligible.

The Only Criteria

You must be feeling well and stable on the day of donation. If you are extremely anxious or experiencing physical side effects (dizziness), it is better to wait for your own safety.
