Hijama (Wet Cupping): A Strict Deferral

Hijama, or wet cupping, involves making small incisions on the skin to draw out "bad blood". Because this involves blood exposure and non-medical environments, it falls under high-risk categories.

The Rule

In India, undergoing Hijama results in a mandatory 12-month deferral. This is to ensure no blood-borne pathogens (like Hepatitis B/C) were transmitted during the procedure.
