Am I Anemic? Signs You Shouldn't Donate Yet

Anemia (low hemoglobin) is common in India. If your Hb is below 12.5, you will be turned away. But how do you know before you go?

Self-Check Signs

  • Pale Eyelids: Pull down your lower eyelid. The inner part should be red/dark pink. If it's pale or white, you might lack iron.
  • Fatigue: Feeling tired even after good sleep.
  • Shortness of Breath: Getting winded easily on stairs.

What to Do

Don't just show up to be rejected. Eat iron-rich foods (greens, dates, beets) for 2 weeks, then visit. You save the staff time and yourself disappointment.
