Psoriasis and Eczema: Skin Deep Rules

Autoimmune skin conditions like Psoriasis or Eczema are generally fine, provided they aren't infected.

The Venipuncture Site

The most important rule: The crook of your elbow (where we put the needle) MUST be clear. We cannot puncture through a lesion, plaque, or rash because it risks pushing bacteria into your vein.

Medications

Topical creams and light therapy are fine. If you are on oral immunosuppressants (like Methotrexate) or biologics, you will be deferred.
