Summer Donation: Don't Melt Away
India's summer can hit 45°C. Heat causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), which drops blood pressure. Combined with donation, this equals Fainting.
Survival Guide
- Pre-Load: Drink 500ml of water RIGHT BEFORE sitting on the chair.
- Cool Down: Sit in the A/C waiting area for 15 minutes to lower your body temp before donating.
- Post-Donation: Do not stand in the sun waiting for a bus. Take a rickshaw/cab. Go straight to a cool room.
