Surgery: When Can I Return?
Had an operation? Your body needs time to heal and rebuild its blood count.
Minor Surgery
(Laparoscopy, Appendectomy, Fracture repair). Wait 6 months. This ensures you are fully healed and free of any hospital-acquired infections.
Major Surgery
(Heart bypass, Joint replacement, or if you Received Blood). Wait 12 months. If you received a transfusion, we must wait a year to ensure you didn't catch a hidden virus.
