Travel Vaccines: Yellow Fever & Typhoid
Getting ready for a trip? Your shots might delay your donation.
Live Vaccines (Long Wait)
Yellow Fever, Polio (Oral), Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR): These use weakened live viruses. You must wait 4 weeks (some guidelines say 2, but 4 is safer) to ensure you aren't shedding virus.
Inactivated Vaccines (Short/No Wait)
Typhoid (Injection), Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus: If you feel well and have no fever, you can usually donate immediately or after 48 hours.
