What to Eat Before Donating Blood: A Donor's Diet Guide

3 Hours Before Appointment
Do NOT Fast. Eat a solid, low-fat meal. Fatty foods (like fries or cheese) can affect the clarity of your plasma, sometimes making it unusable for testing.
Best Foods
- Iron-Rich: Spinach, Eggs, Beans, Pomegranate.
- Complex Carbs: Oats, Whole wheat bread, Rice (provides sustained energy).

What to Avoid
